I can officially say I have washed my feet in a toilet. Before traveling to San Mateo I would have never have had the thought to stick my foot in a toilet to clean it but the water in the toilet was much cleaner than the sewage that was on my foot! I can only hope that I will allow the things that I have witnessed and experienced here to impact me for a lifetime.
Today I worked in Dr. Daniel's clinic before going to Holy Cross. After hearing Dr. Shackelford lecture we went out into the San Mateo community and made the locals aware of a meeting we plan on having at 4:00 tomorrow at Holy Cross School about some of the concerns the locals have shared with us like lack of roads, lack of lighting, and issues with their water. We just went "door knocking" and are keeping our fingers crossed leaders in the community will show up.
